Arabic Audio Lectures
Full Length Audio Lectures – Sample
Notes & Slides
After browsing through the tutorials on this site, you may have seen the wide variety of theory that touch upon important aspects of the Arabic language. These tutorials are useful in providing a broad overview of the fundamental branches of Arabic grammar and morphology. To truly master the language, however, one needs systematic instruction from an accomplished school or course. Shariah Program is one such course, proven to be an ideal source of qualified instruction for students who seek to learn the Arabic language fluently.
Click on the links below to listen to the entire first week of class as it was delivered in March 2008. We've uploaded full length lectures, as we believe it is very important that students make an informed decision in joining our classes. The audio files below are accompanied with slide presentations which should be referred to while one is listening. In addition, many students have prepared detailed notes and shared them with fellow students. Advanced Tafseer
Lectures
Take a first-hand
look at the achievements of 2nd year students in the course. After 1 year of
studying Arabic language sciences in depth, they are now learning the tafsir of Surah Maryam in eloquent detail. The lectures, as you will see,
are not limited to just a brief translation, rather they focus heavily on
Arabic Balagha (rhetoric) using the highly esteemed tafsirs Ruh al-Ma’ani, Tafsir
Abu al-Sa'ood and Bayan
al-Quran by Hakim al-Umma, as a regular
reference. The students have mastered the fundamental concepts of Arabic
grammar which prepared them to follow high-level discussions such as these;
something rarely achieved in such a short amount of time.
When listening to
the audios, keep in mind that this material was introduced 14 months into the
program. As the student's level of understanding for tafsir
increases, the discussions also increase in depth and detail. Not only that,
but based on the steady progress of the 2nd year students, for the first time,
we are fortunate to announce a 3rd year where we will introduce further Fiqh, Hadith, Adab
and Balagha into our syllabus. This is complementary
to tafsir of 5 additional ajzaa
of the Qur’an.
The well-rounded
combination of teaching fundamental concepts of the language, regular student
participation, and live correction by the Teacher is a unique method used by
Shariah Program. This method of teaching is used each and every week in class
and is the only way one can truly develop their understanding of the Arabic
language to the level of deciphering the Qur’an, in the detail you see in these
3 audios below. Links to student notes and further discussion have also been
provided for your reference.
